OUR TAKE: After a few solid release weeks, this one stands out for being fairly mediocre. Dark Sector may have been the first next generation game in development, but it's gotten heavy criticism from the gaming press in recent months. The RTS genre is well served though, with Universe at Wars making its way to consoles and the first expansion for Command & Conquer 3 hitting the PC.

Even though we don't include portable games in our weekly release list, we still felt it was necessary to highlight one very hyped release. It's not because we believe that it is the best release of the week. We just fear the wrath of thousands of effeminate teenage boys who still think that Final Fantasy is as solid a franchise as it was before the overdone CGI.
